Introduction

Theo Hutter brings his extensive experience in commercial and fine art to House and Pet Portraits Art.

After studying fine art and graphic design in Holland. Theo then moved to Australia where he has spent the past 35 years working as an award winning graphic designer and commercial artist.

From his Melbourne studio he creates beautiful house and pet portraits in exquisite pastels. Leonard da Vinci used this technique in the late 15th century and it has since attained great status as a painting medium.

Pastel is a dry medium of pure pigment, the same pigment used in making all fine art paints. When a pastel painting is framed under glass it is the most permanent of all paint mediums, as it has no liquid binder which may cause darkening, fading or cracking with time. Pastels from the 16th Century still exist today, as fresh as the day they were painted.
