The true heart and soul of our homes is often those treasured companions; our pets.
This is what Theo Hutter learned through his successful house portraits business.
"People were requesting that their pets be featured in the portrait of their home and from that there became a strong demand for portraits of the pets by themselves" says Theo.
In order to encapsulate the truly individual character of your special friend, Theo pays careful attention to their unique features, that particular look, the set of their ears, that glint in their eyes.
He works by accepting photos of a pet, any pet, and if required dicussing details by phone to ensure he understands the pet's unique characteristics. In his studio in Melbourne he completes the pet portrait in pastels and watercolours on special acid-free pastel board. The portrait is then sprayed with a high quality fixative to ensure its safety and long life.
The portraits measure 30cm x 40cm (12"x16") or 35cm x 35cm (14"x14") and cost in black and white from $210 and in full colour from $295 plus handling and postage. Other portrait sizes on request. Payment is COD from your local post office.
